4 Tips To Improve Your Adwords Performance For 2016

In this article I will be sharing 4 tips to improve your Adwords performance for 2016. There are many ways to boost performance but these 4 are simple, quick & almost always lead to substantial improvements.

1: Integration

Google has changed the name of “Webmaster Tools” to “Analytics & Search Console”. These services are offered by Google for free and are truly effective research tools. Another free tool is the keyword planner which shows you how many people are searching for your product and what search terms they are using. Google allows you to use these tools for free as they are proven to improve Adwords effectiveness for those using them, it encourages you to spend more as you are earning more. You must integrate Adwords via Analytics and property settings.

2: Limit Your Keywords

Using too many keywords can be a huge waste of time. You will end up competing against yourself more than your competitors. Try keeping it to around 10 keywords per ad group. Use the aforementioned Search Console to see what people are looking for and their search terms when they have clicked on your page to get ideas of what your keywords should be.

3: Avoid Bidding Wars

It can be tempting to always want to be the top result in paid search ads. However if you start out at €1, your competition bids €2 and then you bid €3 you are stuck in a classic bidding war. It only serves to make Google even wealthier. As long as you are in the top three results you are doing well in PPC. The top spot isn’t as important as it is in organic searches.

4: Regular Monitoring & Tweaks

Google Adwords isn’t the type of thing that you set once and just leave to it’s own devices. You should be checking it several times a week, once at the very least. The internet is a fast changing environment and what works one month could cost you a fortune if you don’t keep up to date with the trends. If you don’t have the time to monitor your results and change your ads yourself, then it is crucial that you hire someone to do it or farm it out to an agency.

Follow these 4 tips to improve your Adwords performance and 2016 should be a great year for your campaigns. If you have any questions or would like more information on how we can improve your Google Adwords Performance click the link below.
